HOW TO DO IT
If you've never changed your desktop wallpaper before, chances are you might not even know what it is or where to find it. If that is so, then your desktop may well be blank, except for the standard Microsoft Green backdrop (which you'll usually see when you have just switched your PC on, before you open any programs). Alternatively, your PC manufacturer might have added some wallpaper of their own. In which case your desktop will almost certainly feature the manufacturers name somewhere. Here you will be able - with a couple of clicks of the mouse - to change the scene that greets you every day to a nice landscape scene of your choice.

SETTING IMAGES AS WALLPAPER
This is very easy, providing you are using Internet Explorer or Netscape. Other browsers may differ. Most have the same facility though. Once you have selected the image that you want, wait for it to load completely, then hold your mouse over the picture, right click and select 'Set as Wallpaper', and your done!

CHECKING WHAT SIZE RESOLUTION YOU ARE RUNNING
Before attempting to use any of the pictures here for wallpaper, you need to know what resolution your monitor is currently set to. This is very easy to find out. Just click the start button on the taskbar, then select 'Settings' Then 'Control Panel'. Once the control panel window opens, find the 'Display' icon and double click it. This will open the Display Properties dialog. It always opens on the 'Background' tab, and so you'll see your current wallpaper displayed. Now click the 'Settings' tab (which should be the last one on the right). Check the 'Screen Area' settting. Chances are it will be set to either 800 x 600, or 1024 x 768. Older PC's may be set to 640 x 480. Make a note of the setting and then click 'OK' to close. Now you can go find some new wallpaper.

SAVING MORE THAN ONE IMAGE
Your browser will always overwrite the previous image if you attempt to save more than one. The easiest solution is to bookmark the site, and pop back when you fancy a change. But if you want to have more than one picture saved to your hard drive at any one time then do as follows. Save your first choice as described above. Then, in Windows Explorer look in the 'Windows' directory on your 'C' drive (You may get a message telling you not to mess around in this directory, so be careful). Find a file called Either 'Internet Explorer Wallpaper.bmp' or 'Netscape.bmp' and rename it to something else. You can now save another picture. You can then select your choice of wallpaper manually in 'Control Panel>Display' from the start menu.
